Who We Are
At Our Community Our Kids, we create, catalyze, and champion a community-centered way of caring for children and families in crisis.
We work to build stable futures for every child and family in Cooke, Denton, Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise Counties.
Since 2014, we have been focusing on changing the foster care experience for children and families. Our work is distinguished by an innovative approach of engaging communities to unite in the goal of building stable futures for children and families. We do this work with a high level of respect, a family-first approach and dedication to pushing our field forward.
While in our care, it is critical children are safe, well-cared for and maintain as much normalcy as possible. The best outcomes for children are produced when healthy families are able to care for them.
Metroplex West
In 2014, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services selected ACH as the Single Source Continuum Contractor for Texas Metroplex West which includes the following counties: Cooke, Denton, Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise Counties. Our Community Our Kids assumed full responsibility for the region’s foster care system, managing the full range of resources provided to children in foster care.

Innovate, Equip, Unite.
In the early days of the CBC program, OCOK worked with service providers throughout Metroplex West to evaluate current service offerings and to expand capacity, as necessary. In its first five years, OCOK developed and continues to support a robust network of providers.
These providers deliver a full array of services to meet the needs of families involved in the Texas child welfare system, thus creating an integrated, full continuum of care in the Region.
