Texas Family First provides an opportunity for families needing intensive services to keep their children out of foster care.
TFF provides in-home evidence-based services to meet individual family’s needs.
In 2022, Our Community Our Kids partnered with Vision Quest to offer Functional Family Therapy (FFT) to families with older youth in the home. Additionally, we partnered with CK Family Services to bring High Fidelity Wraparound Services paired with Motivational Interviewing to serve families with younger children. These intensive and targeted services are provided in the home, keeping the family intact, and providing tools to meet their specific needs.

This case was dismissed successfully with the judge noting the mother showed protective capacity by ensuring the stepfather who continued abusing substances did not return to the home. The Vision Quest therapist noted the teen participated in therapy sessions when she historically showed little motivation to engage with others, especially for therapeutic services. The family is eligible for booster sessions if needed after case closure per FFT modality standards.
The mother in this case demonstrated a desire to make sustainable changes in her life and get sober. She engaged very well with her Wrap Coordinator and was committed to her AA meetings as she worked through the 12-step program. Both parents have a strong bond and positive interactions with their child. The father was supportive of the mother in her journey to sobriety and participated in monthly Wraparound meetings. The case was dismissed successfully with no concerns from team members.
