Research shows placing children with family members or close family friends creates the best outcomes for them, and we are committed to this when family and close friends can safely care for them.
Our goal is not only to place children with kin but also support caregivers so that the children thrive in their homes. We leverage community partnerships to offer families support that fits their unique needs.
Our Unique Approach
We begin family search efforts at the outset of every case and do not conclude until family is found or the case is closed.
Trained Family Finding and Engagement specialists engage with familieas to ensure they are well-informed about the process.
Kinship Family Specialists are assigned at the outset of the case and walk alongside families, providing them with resources and support as they care for children.
OCOK employs a family assessment unit, to ensure that safety is assessed and if no concerns arise, children are able to be placed with family as timely as possible.
